In creating Stylehawk Event Services I had two objectives at the outset:
- Simplify the event venue booking and coordination process for both event promoters and event venue operators. Events made simple. Events done right.
- Establish a relationship based business that generates referral and repeat event opportunities. Go deep, not wide.
The venue sourcing and event logistics support we provide is extremely valuable. Our services free time for our clients to focus energies on the activities that ultimately define success for their event (ticket sales, sponsorship, program curation, etc) while simultaneously driving revenue opportunities to our venue partners. We expect to be a true resource for event venues and event promoters in San Diego. This resourcefulness is key to demonstrating our value.
Beyond providing an inherently valuable service, a relationship based business needs to be one of mutual benefit. Our clients and partners need to derive more value from their association with us than we do from them. We need to provide exceptional service so that we over- deliver on client expectations. Our venue partners must have absolute confidence that we will support their event clients in the best possible way.
To hold myself and my team accountable to this concept, I created a set of core values:
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Knowledge
- Organization
- Community
These core values are a foundational element of the Stylehawk business model. I wanted to create a company that does business the right way. It is something we take so seriously, it is included in our employee/ contractor agreements as follows:
CONTRACTOR shall conduct business in accordance with the COMPANY core values detailed below:
– Honesty- All decisions should be made with clear conscience. The pursuit of money, time & opportunity is always second to what is right.
– Integrity- Wear your brand honorably, accept accountability, exceed expectations and communicate clearly.
– Knowledge- Maintain a commitment to achieving superior industry knowledge gained through active participation in industry associations and training opportunities.
– Organization- Focus on developing organizational systems to maximize effectiveness, reduce costs and improve communication.
– Community- Employ local contractors, suppliers and service providers. Seek productive collaboration opportunities to establish a powerful network of partner venues, service providers and contractors.
To take our core values a step further, I believe in transparency. With Stylehawk being a new business, the startup experience is part of our story. In my personal blog, I talk about my founder experiences and the development of Stylehawk as a company. I share because I recognize the I am central to our value proposition. To know me, is to know Stylehawk. Read my most recent post, “Why Do I Feel Guilty and Inadequate About My “New Rich” Life” and let me know what you think. Despite my perceived entrepreneurial insecurities, I believe in my ability as both a business owner and event professional and am confident we are just scratching the surface on what Stylehawk will become.
