Exciting things are happening at Stylehawk Event Services! We’ve been working with some great people and organizations to put on exciting events in Southern California and beyond. We’re adding more sporting event venues to our directory as we connect with venue managers looking to fill their dark days with profitable outside events. And recently, we released an e-book, written by our owner, Cameron Ungar. It’s titled Borrowed Experience: How Working as a Loan Officer Made Me a Better Event Services Professional.
Cameron is a veteran of the event services industry, but that’s not where he got his professional start. For several years in the early 2000s, he worked in the mortgage lending industry as commissioned loan officer. While this might seem like an unusual place to gain experience relevant to founding and running an event services company, for Cameron, it was the perfect place to develop the four competencies that make up the core of Stylehawk.
Those four core competencies are:
- An Entrepreneurial Spirit and Internal Motivation
- A Personal Set of Business Values
- Functional Organization Skills
- Strong Communication and Team-Building Skills
By developing these competencies early on in his career, Cameron was able to hit the ground running, so to speak, when he decided to start his event services company. He had developed certain skills, learned some important things about people and processes, and decided what was important to him personally. He knew what he wanted his business to stand for and how he wanted to set his company apart in the sporting event industry.
This e-book is a great read for anyone wanting to understand more about our San Diego event services company, or to get some insight into the thought process of the leader of Stylehawk Event Services. It could even be helpful for someone looking to start their own business who is trying to figure out how to turn their past experiences into business success.
The e-book is getting a good amount of buzz in the press, and our press release was picked up by nearly 200 major publications, including local outlets like CBS8 in San Diego and KFMB in San Diego, and national media outlets like Google News, San Francisco Business Times, Business Insider, and Boston Business Journal. It was also featured in an article on Businessing Magazine, a national publication dedicated to small business ownership and entrepreneurship.
We hope you’ll take a look at Cameron’s e-book. It’s free to download and can be easily read in one sitting. If you enjoy it, feel free to pass it along to a friend or colleague who could also benefit from the information.
