At Stylehawk Event Services, we love working with all kinds of organizations and businesses for event management, event venue sourcing, and event coordination. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a group called the US Medical Soccer Team (USMST). The USMST is made up of physicians throughout the country who are dedicated to soccer excellence, as well as continuing medical education, community service, and charity. Every year, the team competes in the World Medical Football Championships (also known as The Physicians World Cup) against teams from countries like Australia, Great Britain, Brazil, and Russia.
Earlier this month, Stylehawk Event Services was able to work with the USMST as the tournament organizer for their first ever Physician’s Soccer Summit. The event’s goals were to expand their organization’s membership, encourage networking for like-minded physicians, and create a fun, competitive atmosphere to kick off the USMST’s year of competition. The event featured three days of tournament play, as well as opportunities for networking and more casual times for socializing.
When we first started working with the USMST to procure an event venue, they let us know that they were looking for a venue that was located in a vacation-like destination (since most of the tournament participants were coming from out of town) that housed two regulation soccer fields to accommodate tournament play. We were able to book the George Allen Field at Long Beach State University for the event, with the Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove as a back-up facility in case of rain.
In addition to securing the venues, Stylehawk also worked on behalf of the USMST to:
- Negotiate terms with both venues
- Create a rain contingency plan
- Procure the needed insurance for the event
- Book tournament officials
- Develop a parking plan
- Manage the event on site
- Assist with special requests
The Long Beach event was a great success! It went off without a hitch from an event coordination perspective. The USMST was pleased with how smoothly everything ran, and as far as we could tell, everyone involved had a great time!
