Most of the places you can go to play beach volleyball in Southern California are not available by reservation. They are courts set up on public beaches or in parks and are only available on a first come, first served basis. That’s great if you just want to play a casual game of pick-up beach volleyball, but for something more structured, you’ll want to reserve a facility that can accommodate your event.
At Stylehawk Event Services, we have access to two of the premier sand volleyball facilities in Southern California. Either venue would be great for hosting your beach volleyball tournament, clinic, training camp, or even a large tryout.
Cal State University Long Beach Sand Volleyball Courts
Our top pick for Los Angeles area beach volleyball courts are the beach courts on the campus of Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB). There are several well-maintained sand volleyball courts located just south of the iconic Walter Pyramid that would be perfect for beach volleyball tournaments or clinics. When you book the sand courts at CSULB, the participants at your event will be able to play on the same courts on which the national championship CSULB beach volleyball team trains and plays. The school is also where beach volleyball legend Misty May-Treanor attended and played. For younger athletes, being on a college campus can be an inspirational experience that they will always remember, and having your event at a location like CSULB will also lend credibility to your event.
Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center Sand Volleyball Courts
The Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVEATC) in the San Diego area is also a great choice for your beach volleyball event. The venue features six sand volleyball courts for hosting large tournaments or camps. With onsite housing and eating facilities, you have the option to host a multi-day beach volleyball training camp, clinic, or tournament, where participants never have to leave the CVEATC campus (not that they’d want to—it’s a beautiful campus)! The venue has hosted multiple prestigious international tournaments and is designed to meet USA Volleyball specifications.
The beach volleyball courts at CVEATC feature ultra-fine milled sand that will not stick to players as they train or compete. The courts also have an underground filtration system that keeps the courts from getting muddy, even after heavy rains.
