RIMAC Field/ Triton Soccer Stadium- North Campus Recreation Area - San Diego, Ca
RIMAC Field is a 12 acre field that includes both the Triton Soccer Stadium and Triton Softball Complex within its footprint for intercollegiate athletic competition. Triton Soccer Stadium is in the northwest corner of RIMAC Field and includes permanent bleacher seating for up to 2,000 and a brand new electronic scoreboard. RIMAC Field is immediately adjacent to RIMAC Arena which is a brilliant design feature that provides infrastructure such as locker rooms, athletic training space and meeting rooms to field programs. The large field space has zone controlled Musco field lights to create distinct use experiences depending on event needs. RIMAC Field is also connected to Triton Track & Field Stadium via an underground tunnel, which creates a cohesive field complex. RIMAC Field plays a huge role in the life of UC San Diego students as their introduction to the La Jolla campus begins in this venue with convocation and concludes with commencement. In between, RIMAC Field hosts the annual Sun God Festival which is a student curated festival that has been a UCSD tradition since 1984. Because of the centralized design, massive field space and diverse event resume, RIMAC Field is perfect for field tournaments of all type- soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse and rugby as well as large scale festivals and concerts.
The facilities at UC San Diego are all designed to be multipurpose and there is perhaps no better example of that than RIMAC Field. RIMAC Field, RIMAC Arena, RIMAC Annex, Triton Soccer Stadium, Triton Softball Field, the Triton Track & Field Stadium, the Alex G. Spanos Athletic Performance Center and the Northview Tennis Courts make up the UCSD campus neighborhood known as the North Campus Recreation Area (NCRA) which is found in the northwest corner of campus, along the sparkling San Diego coastline.
